Well, I guess I should tell you a little about me. My name's Simon (as you may have guessed), I'm 22, and I'm currently in my second year studying a BSc in Computer Network Management and Design at the University of Portsmouth in the UK.
I've been involved with and using computers for a good many years now, and I am particularly interested in networking. Obviously my degree was a sensible choice, and although it can be quite hard at times, I do enjoy it. The course covers a wide range of subjects, but always with an emphasis on networking. Outside of university, I have many hobbies and interests which occupy my free time, these range from photography and computers to sailing and scuba diving. I enjoy photography as an outlet for my creative side, I have amassed a fair selection of photos taken from all sorts of different places. I tend to be more of a landscape or architectural photographer, and I feel my gallery reflects this.
Computer-wise, I am interested in the hardware side of things, I have built two computers now and I am forever fiddling with my own machine (I'm currently in the process of upgrading my desktop, each new configuration never lasts very long). As you may have already realised, I am interested in web design too, but this is more of a hobby than a money-making exercise, I think I enjoy it because I like to have a point of presence on the internet and for people to see what I have created. My main pursuit outside out technology is sailing; I've been sailing since the age of 10, and have been teaching it for several years now. I also enjoy scuba diving, and I am involved with the Portsmouth University Divers society.
